Carl Clayton Classic Results

Ben Maynard stormed home to win the Carl Clayton Classic on the Forth River by 24 seconds from his training partner Stewart Bennett, of Hobart. Ben and Stewart were using the race as a lead-in event to the Australian Wildwater Team selection races to be held in early December and they both showed their determined and focussed approach during the race.

Jake Pierce won the junior category by one minute, demonstrating just how much he has improved during this year. Andy Shaw came second in effortless style using his superb technique.

The Carl Clayton Classic is held each year in memory of Carl Clayton who was a founding member of the Tasmanian Canoe Club. Carl’s son Stewart took to the water this year with his daughter Rhiannon in a K2.
