Kris wins Spin round the Dial 2008

Thanks to all the volunteers that made the day run very smoothly!  Yes the race has been run and won by 41 competitors including 8 of Tasmania’s best individualists and 11 local and distant teams.

The weather was not up to its best for the Northwest Coast, providing a headwind for cyclists returning to Penguin, some showers throughout the day and some wind to push the paddlers over the finish line.  A big thankyou to our main sponsor, Canoe n’ Surf, for their contribution and vouchers to all competitors. Thanks also to Forestry Tasmania, Harvey Norman, Ulverstone Cycles, Crusty’s Bakery, Tassie Tackle & Outdoor, TreadleyTec, Barringwood Park Vineyard, Allgoods, Mountain Designs, St John Ambulance, Coastal Patrol, City of Burnie Cycling Club, Mersey Valley Devonport Cycling Club, and RedGrasshopper Pizza.

The individual competitors were all male with well known athlete Kris Clauson taking line honours and first position in a time of 3:46:25.  The next 4 individualist finished by the 4hr mark, beating all of the teams.  The first team Multi-Untalented comprised two people and finished in a time of 4:03:03. (see the results for more details)

Thanks to all the competitors for turning up and we hope to see you again next year!
